Obviously, it is an acronym, but what it stands for is what is at question. BBH evolved from a joke from some of my friends and it turned in to somewhat of a nickname for me. After much discussion, we (they) decided that it stood for Bodacious Blonde Hottie. There were other descriptions that were thrown in the hat, but a lot of those were along the R rating rather than PG.According to the dictionary, Bodacious means audacious- bold or brazen. I didn’t start out being bodacious- on the contrary, I have always been more of an introvert, preferring to stay on the shy and quiet side. I actually make a really good wallflower at parties. Over the years I have become bodacious when I need to be, and, I have to admit, being bodacious is fun.As for the Blonde part, well, it would depend on which week of which month it was. I prefer myself as a dark blonde. I find that most people don’t take me seriously when I am a Marilyn Monroe blonde. I wish I could be that blonde, it just doesn’t suit me. That doesn’t mean you won’t see me walking down the street with very blonde hair. It happens sometimes when I’m not paying attention. And finally, there is the word “Hottie.” I could believe that on most days I looked “nice” or “attractive,” but hot? No, not really. Besides, if people could see me with no makeup and puffy eyes in the morning, they would reconsider hottie as a description. Maybe on a day when I had just gotten my hair done, my eyebrows waxed and shaved my legs you might consider me hot, but on most days I felt like a “regular” person. For practical purposes (and because I have kids, and NO kid wants a hot mom) I decided to change my BBH to Bodacious Blonde Housewife. I felt like it suited me best, because on most days, I am a housewife. I cook, I clean and I do carpool- those are all qualifications you need to earn housewife status.I was 44 when I decided I needed to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. For the past 10 years I had been a married stay at home mom taking care of my 2 kids. I knew I wanted to work outside of the home, I just didn’t know what I was good at. I was smart, pretty and somewhat clueless about a lot of life related issues. Througha series of decisions, some good and some bad, I stumbled upon my new life as a single mom and writer of books, articles and blogs. The series of books, “BBH’s Guide to….” was created from all of my own experiences. They are all true, with a few embellishments for entertainment purposes. The books were written as a way to help myself not take my “life experiences” so seriously. I hope they bring you a glimmer of hope and leave you with a smile on your face.Memoirs of a BBHs (Bodacious Blonde Housewife) Guide to Love is the story of the Bodacious Blonde Housewife as she tries to find the loving relationship that has eluded her for years. Thru a series of mishaps, she finds her happily ever after. Be careful when reading this book! You might end up finding YOUR happily ever after! You will laugh, you will cry and you will cheer!
