However, as her years progress, she finds Him through her life experiences. She learns the difference between religion, which is manmade, and being religious (religious defined in Merriam Webster’s dictionary as “fervent in one’s beliefs”). Mia learns that the Truth is written on her heart through the Holy Spirit and that God continuously works through her as He does all of His children. She learns how God could love her and yet still allow her to endure growing up in a family with an alcoholic father. And she learns that God never left her alone, He was there for her every step of the way and He had even given her a best friend she could always turn to. As Mia learns about God through her life experiences, she is unaware of her best friend’s and her son’s innate deep love for Him.All Things, is the first in a series of novellas by this author. The stories are meant to bring God’s promises alive for readers through his Grace. Each novella in the series brings a different person or family’s journey to readers, one Bible verse at a time, and shows how God makes all things work together for the good of those who love Him—the experiences are easily relatable. This first book of the series shows how each generation is a reflection of the previous one, prayerfully improving upon itself with each future generation. In this first story, Mia’s life mirrors her mother’s, but with spiritual growth adding to the richness of it’s reflection. Then, as the years progress, Mia’s son’s life is an improved reflection of hers. Their journeys are of discovery into Who God is and how He works in their lives—in the lives of all of His children. Through Mia’s eventual voluntary surrender to God, as she becomes a mega movie star, He uses her fame to help others as she learns about one of His promises: Romans 8:28 “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose” (World English Bible).
